Eastbrook South’s 6th
graders learned about
and celebrated Mexico's
holiday, The Day of the
Dead this week. They
compared the holiday
to Halloween and made
several crafts. Below are
what some students had
to say about the things
they learned:
“I really liked learn-
ing about Day of the
Dead with my class this
week. It was very fun
to learn about a topic I
never knew much about.
I loved drawing the beautifully designed skull and
coming up with our own
variations of it. I had so
much fun with this great
learning experience and
a fun time doing crafts
with my friends.” - Ella
Crouch
“I really enjoyed learning about the Day of the
Dead, and making all the
fun crafts. I really loved
making the tissue paper
marigolds, the flower
that represents remembering our loved ones.
This was very fun and I
loved learning about the
Day of the Dead.” - Tarren Kerschner
