Holiday benefit auction to
be held at Portland Center
To kick off Winter Fest Activities, Arts Place Portland
Center will be hosting its 34th
annual Holiday Benefit Auction
Friday, November 18. Doors
will open at 5:00 pm and the
auction will begin at 6:00 pm.
Admission is free and open to
the public. Complimentary refreshments, beer samples, and
coffee samples will be served
throughout the evening. The
Portland Center of Arts Place is
located at 131 East Walnut St,
Portland, IN 47371.
All proceeds from the auction will support programs and
services of Arts Place, Inc. including: Arts in the Parks, ArtWorks, MusicWorks, exhibits,
and more.
Individuals and businesses
donate all items including, va-
cation getaways, gift items,
collectables, art work, museum
passes, and more. To donate an
item or for more information

Portland Center hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 10
am to 9 pm and Friday from 10
am to 6 pm.
This activity made possible, in part, with support from
Community Foundation of
Randolph County, the Indiana
Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts,
a federal agency.
Refreshments will be provided in part by First Merchants
Bank. Beer samples provided
by Jay County Beverage, coffee samples provided by The
Glass Bonsai.
ALCOVE Artists Club and Friends
holiday and gift show exhibit opens
Arts Place Blackford
County Arts Center will be
exhibiting art work by the
ALCOVE Artists Club, from
October 31-December 16,
2016. The exhibit includes
art work by the 11 members
of the art club and their artist
friends. The art features a variety of mixed media art and
sculptural pieces.
There will be a reception
at the art center for the artists
on November 13, 2:00 - 4:00
pm, with music provided by
guitarist, Ken Bantz.
Please join us. This is a free
event and the public is invited.

signing at
Pogue
The Barton Rees Pogue
Memorial Library (Upland Public Library) has
a book signing coming
up on Saturday, November 5th from 10 am until
1 pm. There will be five
local authors participating
in this: Rachael Phillips,
Secrets of the Amish Diary; Donna Cronk, That
Sweet Place & At Home
in the Heartland; Joyce
Helyer, Scattering Ashes:
A sister's journey with her
gay brother; Larry Helyer,
Mountaintop Theology:
Panoramic perspectives of
redemptive history; Marcia Woodard, The Faintest
Whisper & Cocoa Hates
Kisses. These authors
will have copies of their
books for sale, give short
talks about their books,
and of course, sign copies
for those who wish. The
library will have light refreshments for those who
