The theme for the Festival this year is “All aboard Up- land! Celebrating 150 years.” “On-the-spot” poetry writing begins at 6pm, where entrants will write pieces inspired by the art being exhibited during the Saturday program of the festival. The main festival will be held at Upland Community Church, beginning on Satur- day at 10am with the Adult Original Poetry Competition. Immediately following will be Dramatic or Humorous Interpretation of favorite po- ems. Both the adult and youth “Best of Show” winner will receive prizes. Those votes will also be used for a draw- ing for a visitor to win. The Bridge Cafe has do- nated gift cards as prizes for the festival. The featured sundae of the month at Ivanhoe’s is Pogue’s Peach Perfection, a vanilla ice cream covered with peaches in a tasty peach glaze, with a whipped topping and a cherry, sprinkled with cinnamon plus cinnamon graham crackers for dipping.
