Gibraltar Rugby Black Tie Dinner

30th November 2016

Gibraltar capped-off an excellent 12 months with a hugely successful black-tie dinner at Grand Battery House, with guest stars Jason Leonard and David Campese enjoying a memorable trip to the Rock.

The World Cup winners spoke at Novembers charity fundraiser hosted by the GRFU. Campese, player of the tournament in Australia's 1991 World Cup success, led training for both juniors and seniors at Devils Tower Camp and pledged his support to the continued growth of the game in Gibraltar.

David Campese: "It was great to coach the kids out here, and it's something I personally love to do - give back to the game that gave me a livelihood. I've coached in Kenya, Malaysia and Australia in the last 12 months but was particulary impressed by my experience in Gibraltar and wish the GRFU all the success with their plans going forward."

Former England International Jason Leonard: "We're very proud of the people out here, in terms of the development of rugby, and where Gibraltar is going."

"It's a real success story and to be able to come to nights like this, and help celebrate that is a real honour."
