Inter School Tag Tournamnet 19th October 2016
They met teams from St Anne's and St Josephs in the finals. The KPMG Year 4/5 tournament was won by St Joseph's with an extra time try after the match finished in a 5-all draw.
Gibraltar Rugby had instructors and officials present at the tournament. They were able to provide advice and instructions to the children during the matches, whilst at the same time being able to talent spot and promote their own sessions as Gibraltar Rugby continues to develop its youth section further.
Gibraltar Rugby, in collaboration with the Department of Education held its annual Inter-School Tag rugby tournament on Wednesday 19th October. Five schools, St Anne's, Bishop Fitzgerald, St Joseph's, Loreto Convent and St Bernard's School took part in the tournament held at Victoria Stadium.
Loreto Convent were crowned champions of the Land Rover Year 6/7 tournament and were also runners up in the Year 4/5 final. Pupils have been practicing at lunchtimes to improve their game play and tactical awareness, said a Loreto spokesperson one of the reasons for reaching both finals.
