Study Tables
Every semester at the UIC College of Pharmacy, all brothers of the Alpha Sigma chapter experience the stress and overwhelming burden of exams, quizzes, different assignments, counseling sessions, and other responsibilities that force each of us to apply the knowledge of pharmacy we continue to improve upon each and every day. What helps lessen the burden of these herculean tasks and relieve the worries that accompany these growing responsibilities, is the development and implementation of our Alpha Sigma Study Tables. During these Study Tables, put together by our Worthy Master of Education, all brothers are encouraged to attend and work with one another to improve our collective knowledge in all aspects of the science of pharmacy. P3 students share their experiences with new and old P2 and P1 brothers, and each brother utilizes the intelligence of the other to improve their performances in academia.
More than 70% of our Alpha Sigma brothers have attended at least one of the consistently offered Study Tables, and all of them have left these events thinking that what they discussed or reviewed with their fellow brothers was helpful in improving their education.
Brothers are also encouraged to bring snacks and other brain-fueling meals to share with one another throughout the night, and it is at these Study Tables that the Alpha Sigma chapter promotes an experience that encapsulates the importance of education and brotherhood beautifully.
