How did you infuse that summer vibe into “ Ice Cream ”?
When I started working on Ice Cream it was a very powerful track in my head , but the more I worked on it , the more its groove got to me . The sounds of the synths and the saxophone is what brought out the summer vibe into the song .
Could you provide some insights into the vocal sample / phrase utilised in this track ? How did you discover it and what attracted you to its use ?
The vocal sample used in the track was just something I found in one of my late night sample digging sessions on splice . Just the fact that it ’ s funny and putting this into a song would be an interesting addition is what got me to use it and then the whole track started to build around it .
What led you to create a lo-fi mix of “ Maan Meri Jaan ”? Given your background as a dance music producer , how do you perceive the current popularity of genres like lo-fi ?
Maan Meri Jaan ’ s Lo-Fi mix came about as a challenge to myself to get myself out of my comfort zone and make something completely different . Given the ongoing trend , since Maan Meri Jaan was already such a peaceful and loving song , it deserved a lo-fi mix to be in that relaxing and calming spectrum as well and that is why I made it . As a genre I really like and it ’ s something that ’ s here to stay as it develops a real connection with people and enhances the warmth and
relaxation people seek from listening to music .
What upcoming projects and plans can we expect from you throughout 2023 ?
2023 is all about pushing boundaries and getting more of myself out there . From the context of a producer , I am coming out with more music which is dance music yet experimental with Indian influences and even RnB & Pop songs with a few collaborations . As a DJ , I am targeting creating new IPs to travel across the countries and give people a different experience at a club near them . Hoping it pans out and is welcomed well by listeners and the live shows audience equally .
