Tell us about your upcoming projects-
There are a couple of projects that I am
looking forward to. There is another
single which shall release by November.
I have a web series coming out with Eros
now on the 24th of September. The show
is called 'Side Hero' and I'm starring in it
alongside Gauhar Khan and Kunaal Roy
Kapoor. I am focusing on these things
at the moment. More on this soon!
If there is one musician you would
like to collaborate with in the future,
who would it be and why?
There are many actually, now I have some
projects that are coming up, some cool
collaboration in the near future. I will keep
you updated on them. I grew up listening to
everything from old-school metal to Indian
Classical — so everyone from Iron Maiden
to Kishori Amonkar. I really admire the
work that Amit Trivedi, Amit Mishra and
Clinton Cerejo are doing at the moment.
I would love to work with them. Also, Arijit
Singh, he is amazing and I think everyone
loves him. And of course, AR Rahman!
You have a studio of your own. Tell
us a little bit about your set up. -
I was in college at the time and had set up a
professional recording studio where bands
and musicians would come to jam and
record music. I would wake up around 7 am
for college and then head over to the studio
at around 1 pm every day. It was hard
work, and I would be in the studio until
almost midnight. That's where I learned
how things work. A lot of people who are
big names in the industry have recorded
there at that time. Although my seniors are
stars now, they were only making a name
for themselves in the industry back then.”
Song on repeat on your playlist -
The new Eminem album 'Kamakazi'.
Your best sung and composed song till date-
Aaya Na Tu's reprise version.
Your dream stage to perform at-
There are too many.
If there is one thing you would like
to see as a change in the music
industry, what would it be?
Artists should stop competing with one
another. It's pointless, counterproductive
and not what this art is for.
