of musicians make money through touring, and
live, that’s where you can make some money but
it is difficult with album sales and streaming.
It is very rare that it happens to someone that a
song takes off to that extent. But, there is a lot of
good music that is being made, but unfortunately,
the way that it is being exploited, monetized,
marketed, it has still not reached that level where
somebody who grows up can say that’s really
what I want to do for a living and make a career
out of. So, hopefully that changes. In this country,
Film and Devotional music has captured the
space that it’s difficult for artists outside that.
Hopefully, labels will have belief in trying to get
the independent music scene back on track.
Your message to upcoming artists
Most importantly, have something to say! I
think success is such an elusive thing. Everyone
wants to succeed, if you want to be an artist,
you have to think deep and say something to
the world through music. It may have been
said before but say it in the way you want to!
