Having a smooth and efficient DAW is very important . Here are some tips and procedures you can follow to achieve a smooth and efficient music production experience .
Use Solid State Hard Drives as much as possible
Free up more RAM
• Close unused programs : Close all programs that you are not currently using to free up more RAM .
• Configure virtual memory : Configure virtual memory to ensure you have enough memory available .
• Reduce the use of plugins : Reduce the use of plugins and effects , especially the most resource-demanding ones .
• Increase the amount of RAM : If you have a PC with a compatible motherboard , you can increase the amount of RAM installed to improve performance .
• Configure swap memory : Configure swap memory on an external hard drive or solid state drive ( SSD ) to improve read / write speed .
• Clean the registry : Clean the registry to free up space and speed up your PC .
• Solid State Hard Drive ( SSD ): Solid State Hard Drives ( SSD ) have much faster read / write speeds than traditional mechanical hard drives , making them ideal for storing audio files and production projects .
