Tarun Balani and Aditya Balani founded Global Music Institute( GMI) in 2011 with the mission of bringing a distinctive and modern approach to music education to India. Through a comprehensive music curriculum that includes the core aspects of music( music theory, harmony and ear training), ensemble lessons and workshops, instrumental lessons and performance as well as Indian classical and folk music; GMI incorporates modern classroom teaching techniques to give students an indepth view of music subjects. It also offers music technology and business management, which GMI believes are essential for todays working musician. GMI is also the only official teacher of the Berklee College of Music, USA, Curriculum in India. Over its semesters, the Institute invites a diverse international faculty from various stylistic and cultural backgrounds to be able to provide students with opportunities to explore the diversity of expression that defines today’ s music industry. The larger goal of GMI is to also foster a music community that brings together artists to work collaboratively and be able to fully express and realize their musical vision.

HINDUSTANI MUSIC PROGRAM
The Hindustani Program at GMI offers beginner, intermediate and advanced students privateinstruction lessons in vocals and tabla.
FOUNDATION IN MUSIC PROGRAM
Recently launched program specially designed to give a student a strong foundation on their instrument and develop overall musicianship through essential music concepts of harmony, ear training, ensemble playing, music seminars and performance opportunities. This program is ideal for beginners, amateur musicians and students who want to prepare for a higher level of study in music. The program also offers the option to add on courses such as an Ensemble or the Music Forum.
PART-TIME PROGRAM

Music Application and Theory: Music Application and Theory( MAT) and Harmony involves the study of chords and their construction, chord progressions and the principles of connection that govern them. In the initial stage, the course is focused on providing a foundation in – intervals, scales, keys, triads, seventh chords, tensions and diatonic harmony.
Ear Training: Ear Training focuses on helping the student to develop aural skills( a skill by which musicians learn to identify, solely by hearing, pitches, intervals, melody, chords, rhythms, and other basic elements of music). Ear-training is typically a component of formal musical training. These classes will strengthen the student ' s sense of pitch and rhythmic interpretation.
Ensemble: Ensemble Course offers instruction through various styles( jazz, R & B, funk and rock) where students focus on fundamental concepts of group / band / ensemble playing including improvisation, group interaction, repertoire development and performance skills. Ensembles offered include Contemporary Jazz Blues, RnB, Funk, Classic Jazz, Bebop, Jazz World Ensemble, Afro-Cuban Ensemble, Brazilian Ensemble and the Recording Ensemble.
Introduction to Music Production: Modern musicians are often required to record and produce their own music. This course provides a hands-on and conceptual understanding of the basics of digital audio production and the technologies it involves. This course enables you to start recording, mixing and producing your own music. You will also become better acquainted with digital audio concepts, synthesis basics, the digital audio workstation( DAW) and working in studios.
