Remodel Brings in Increased Sales and Local Award
I
n a tight two-week time frame, the Gilbert, Arizona location,
owned by Bill and Gayle Schmidt, transformed from a Gen 3
to a Stadia model. The overhaul consisted of the entire restaurant being gutted and every single room changing, including
the tear down and rebuilding of walls. The project involved
switching from Coca-Cola to Pepsi products at the same time,
which required the addition of two new wait stations.
Shading was installed on the patio and all lighting was set
up on an energy rebate savings program. The upgrade also called
for fresh furniture, tile, carpet, paint, cabinets, beer taps and all
signage. While the number of big screen TVs at the establishment decreased from 14 to four, they added 70- and 80-inch
LED TVs. But the changes weren’t confined to the dining area.
The restaurant now boasts a new water heater, kitchen
equipment, air conditioners
and alarm system as well.
“What we like most is the
open, roomy feel that has been
created,”reveals Mrs. Schmidt.
“We especially like when people walk
in who did not know that we were
going to remodel and do a double take,
questioning if they are in the right place.
The look is so totally different that our guests think they’re in
a new restaurant,”says Schmidt. She is happy to report guest
comments have all been positive and that sales have steadily
increased as a result of the new look.
Thanks perhaps in part to the remodel and newly-energized team, the location was recently honored with the Best
Wings Award as part of Best of Gilbert 2014 sponsored by the
East Valley Tribune. The Schmidts are pleased, saying,“It is our
10th anniversary. [It’s a] great way to celebrate!” S
