Have no money? Have no job? Have no love? It is our ego that made us feel empty, lost, and inadequate. Our social media shouts at us daily that we are lacking in every way possible. In order to feel comfort, we keep wanting something bigger, something better or something that might impress other people. Is this you? Because anybody that’s living under a roof right now, reading this article have no right to complain, because you have already meet the basics. The only thing you are lacking is not being aware of how much you have and how much you should appreciate for what you have.

The best way to make your day better is to make somebody else’s better. Everyday, we hustle in our lives and it’s easy to forget the kind ones around us; so, use National Compliment day, January 24th, to appreciate those who deserve it. Whether it’s just as small as a “thank you” or “you look great”, it helps to make someone’s day much greater. By giving a compliment to someone, it makes you feels good and creates a strong bond between you and the person who is receiving the compliment. So take that poker face mask off, be nice, and compliment someone.

As simple as having a friend or a soul mate, you should be blessed. On National Send a Card to a Friend Day, February 7th, you should put down your phone and take your times to send a card to your friend. Talk about your good and bad moments with them and how they shaped you who you are now. Yes, send a physical card through the post office, it might be slow, but handwritten words have much more feeling than digital letters.

“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light,” as said by Hellen Keller. There are never enough friends for you when they are real. On February 11th, National Make a Friend Day, it’s time for you to seek and meet someone new and create a friendship. Having a new friend can broaden your vision by giving you opportunities to see new perspective and challenge something new. One of the easiest way of making a new friend is to go out more and explore your personal interest by taking class or joining a club.

All these days shouldn’t be only celebrated in only one day; it should be celebrated everyday. Send those letters, say those thanks; stop hesitating.
