Love Letters To Technology

Imagine waking up late tomorrow because you had no alarm clock, no way to contact your boss or school because you have no phone, and no kitchen appliances to make food. Here is a reminder to be more thankful for technology!

These are our letters to our most coveted gadgets.

We love you, Technology!

Dearest Cell Phone,

The other day I was standing in the rain waiting for the bus and I reminisced upon our moments together. I looked down at you in my hand and when I pressed the home button, you did not power on. I could not type on you. I could not speak to you. I could not listen to you. I could not even look at you. You had died. You had died before I could tell you how much I appreciate you. I appreciate the way you woke me up in the morning to “A Boogie With Da Hoodie.” I appreciate the way you always had an answer to the questions I asked. I appreciate that you kept up with my thoughts, even when they have escaped me. I appreciate that you adjusted your brightness when I get sleepy. I appreciate the way you paid attention to whatever I was interested in. I appreciate the way you helped me communicate with my family. But, most importantly, I appreciate you for just being you. I loved every scrape and crack on you. I just wished that I had told you sooner.

Until we meet again,

Janay’ D. Lee
