After a long wait, the day is finally here. Inauguration Day is a ceremony to mark the beginning of a new four-year term for the elected president of the United States. This event happens every four year regardless if the president is reelected. On Friday, January 20 at 9:00 AM in Washington DC., Donald J. Trump sworn and took his position as the 45th president of the United State. Along with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, and his 11 years old son, Barron Trump were officially welcome for the first time to The White House. For this event, there were some set of restrictions. The main one was that you must have a ticket to attend the ceremony. The tickets were free, but they’re in high demand and they were only given to certain amount of people. In addition there was a giant video screens and audio systems that streamed the proceedings to the thousands of spectators on the National Mall.

Donald Trump started his speech by thanking Chief Justice Robert, President Carter, President Clinton, President Obama, the fellow Americans, and people of world for giving him this opportunity. He mentioned that this 2017 will be a year that everyone will remember, because “America” will rise again. All challenges and problems that the country has, they will all be face together; even if there are hardships and barriers. Donald Trump is trying to reach to everyone by letting them know that he will be there for them; no one will be ignore. He also added “We are not transferring power from one administration to another, or one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington DC and giving it back to you, the people”, in other words, he was trying to say is: now is the time for the people to govern the country, all the choices made for the country will be based on the American people’s voice! He is promising upon all, to return the power back to the people. As a closing, he ended his speech with his campaign quote, “Together we will make America strong again, we will make America wealthy again, we will make America proud again, we will make America safe again, and yes, TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” of course, how you miss the last line.

President Trump’s speech was confident and promising but his crowd wasn’t really. People around the internet started posting pictures of Trump’s inauguration versus Obama’s. As quote says, “a picture is worth a thousand words” By comparing both picture, on President Obama’s Inauguration, the National Mall was packed. According to Hollywood Deadline, an estimated 1.8 million people attended Obama’s 2009 inauguration; about 1M attended his second, in 2013. While President Trump’s about 700K-900K attended. It wasn’t that bad either, he is not the president with the least amount of people attending the Inauguration. Bush’s two inaugurations collected crowds estimated a 300K and 400K, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. And Bill Clinton clocked estimated crowds of 800K in 1993 but just 250K in ’97. the following morning, Trump shows up to a CIA conference, President Trump questioned media reports and photographs that showed the size of Inauguration Day crowds. He blames the fact that it was raining and the restrictions of the tickets. When President Obama took the oath of office in 2009, conditions were clear with temperatures were in the 20s. Eight years later, temperatures hovered in the high 40s with discontinuous rain.

The following day after, protest happened. Celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga, who accepted Mr. Trump as a president, showed up on the streets to express their feelings.
