Celebrating 25 Years of Volunteer-led Community-based Youth Lacrosse in Massachusetts
As Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) celebrates its 25th Anniversay season this spring, I would like to thank and recognize the thousands of volunteer town program leaders, coaches, team managers, and board members (at the town, region, & state level) who have not only made an enormous difference in growing their own town's community-based youth lacrosse program over the last 25 years, but have also significantly contributed to the growth and success of youth lacrosse throughout Massachusetts. When we ask the question: Who has had - and will continue to have - the most significant impact on youth lacrosse in my community (whether by team, town, region, and/or state)? There is no question the volunteer role of YOUTH lacrosse program leaders, coaches, team managers, and board members have made a positive difference in the lives of our children participating in youth lacrosse throughout Massachusetts. To this truth, let's all shout: Roger That!
As we look ahead and plan for our next 25 years, we should never lose sight of the simple fact: without the often thankless efforts of our youth lacrosse volunteer town program leaders, coaches, team managers, and board members, the youth lacrosse community would not only not grow (let alone thrive), it would simply not exist. As your league leadership representing over 150 towns throughout Eastern & Central Massachusetts, Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse will continue to focus our efforts at the board leadership level on improving the overall experience for all participants (players, coaches, leaders, officials, parents, and fans). We have much to celebrate and be thankful for this spring season. Your active involvement in youth lacrosse in your community is appreciated and is no doubt having a positive impact on the game we love.
