YOU.
Drive.
Me.
Nuts.

If there’s an “ask a stupid question day” of course there should also be a “Pet Peeve Week.” Pet peeves are just annoying things or actions that other people does and drives us nuts. On the second week of October we all come together and celebrate this unofficial holiday named “The Pet Peeve Week.” During this week, we are free to point out and say out loud what bother us the most from the other person. Or as the other person, who does annoying things, you are free to do it as much as you want without having someone yell at you.
Most of the time, this pet peeves occurs from our bad habits. For example, one of my mom’s biggest pet peeves from me is that I spent too much time on my phone while we are having dinner. She will never yelled at me, but she would look at me in a mad way. But since she never called me out, I felt it was OK to do it. This is a bad habit that I need to change, and I know it doesn’t only bother my mom, but to my entire family too.
Some annoying pet peeves could be humming while driving or chewing food or gum loudly. Someone changing their mind — a lot. All this little actions might get on your nerves, but on this unofficial holiday is the time to celebrate them. I myself get annoyed pretty fast, either if you are being too slow to get something done or if you can’t get things done the right. But my biggest pet peeve is when people can’t decide between something. Specially when they tell you “ I’m fine with anything, you choose.” But when you chose, they give you this look of “I don’t want that.”
To celebrate this unofficial holiday, we went around the CHALK office and ask the team what are their biggest pet peeves.
“The biggest pet peeve I have is when someone forgets what the conversation was about. For example: we could be talking about our homework. Then I ask a question and you forget that we were talking about the homework for class” -Trayvon
“My biggest pet peeve is when my my man takes too long to text me back. Also arrogant people.”
-Alexandra
