I grew up really different from most of the people I know. I didn’t grow up eating the same foods, or reading the same stories, not even enjoying the same movies. I even grew up differently from the rest of my family. I was definitely luckier than my sister. I got better education, more opportunities, and definitely, a different life style. I didn’t grow up being ready for all seasons, or having a super strict school, or having a super close community of people in my neighborhood. For a long time, I didn’t know much about my background, culture, and ethnicity. It was hard at first, growing up so different from the rest of my family, but now I know so much.
