Lacrosse Video Game Due For Release
After a failed Kickstarter campaign earlier in the year Crosse Studios has finally raised the money to create a Lacrosse video game. They were able to raise $157,652 (£94450.47) using crowdfunding site indiegogo.com whereby players could pre-order the game scheduled to be released on Xbox, Play Station, and PC. Those who pre-ordered the game would also receive an extra special perk – they would be included in the game! Yes, you would get your face, name, body type, number, and position featured in every game shipped (not to bad a deal for £32).
The total that Crosse studios managed to raise surpassed their $75,000 target by a considerable amount meaning that the game, titled “Lacrosse 15”, will now be released on the next generation consoles Xbox One and PS4
The studio were the developers of lacrosse games such as College Lacrosse, NLL, and the smart phone game Lacrosse Dodge. However, Carlos Sunseri believes that thanks to the funding Lacrosse 15 will surpass all previous attempts:
“In particular, the funding would allow Crosse Studios to capture shooting motions with real lacrosse players to create the most realistic animations… Overall, the visual quality and realism of the player movement would be far superior. It will be the 'next level' game we all have been waiting for."
The new title will apparently contain similar features to popular titles such as Madden, NHL, or FIFA including “multi-year dynasty mode, competitive online multiplayer, real-time RPG levelling, and in-depth character customization”.
Fans will need to wait until late 2015 for the games official release but with so many eager fans Sunseri doesn’t see this delay being a problem:
“The major publishers think the lacrosse market is too small for a video game. It’s time we prove them wrong”
Given that fans happily shelled out money on the game before it was even created I don’t Crosse Studios will need to worry about sales when the game does hit the shelves.
