Family

Family businesses are a part of what defines our community. These Mom and Pop shops bring culture into our neighborhoods with unique cuisines and products. These places are what make our communities what they are. Often enough, these businesses aren't appreciated for the culture the bring to our community and the money they contribute to our nation’s economy. Because of this, we celebrate all the little family-owned shops around town and their owners every year on March 29th. These businesses start from nothing and take a lot of determination to make possible.

Family-owned businesses start from a dream that take a lot of hard work and dedication to make it successful. Although a majority of companies today are owned by stockholders and run by C.E.O’s, they all started from a business that was a run by a family. Starting and running a family-owned business is a difficult thing to do, especially with constant money and effort being poured into the dream. It takes countless hours to nurture these small shops into international corporations. It requires endless amounts of advertising and extensive customer support to make them successful. With over 27 million small businesses across the United States, Mom and Pop shops make up a good amount of the stores that we walk into.

To start a Mom and Pop store, many of these business owners have to rent out property and propose their products to landlords and banks for loans. Over time, these businesses attract customers and need to keep this influx going in order to to pay back their investment in products, ads, and rent. This is a constant fight, but it must continue for the business’s sake and their customers. These Moms and Pops are always battling their businesses to success or until they're bought out. This is why Mom and Pop businesses are such a big part of our community and should be respected and praised for all the hard work they provide us. Go and support your local businesses today!
