No doubt you already know that too much sugar is
bad for you. It can harm your heart, your pancreas,
your kidneys, your joints and cause depression. And
that?s just the beginning of the list.
But did you know that too much sugar can also
prevent your meditation from raising your
consciousness? Here?s how: One of the things that
can happen in meditation is activation of the pineal
gland. That?s the little pine cone-shaped,
light-sensing organ which is also called The Third
Eye. It?s located near the center of the brain, tucked
between the two hemispheres. Raising your
frequency through meditation activates the Third
Eye and can move you into higher consciousness.
For centuries esoteric traditions have considered the
pineal gland to be the connecting link between the
physical and spiritual worlds. Activating the pineal
gland through meditation has been the way to
access those inner realms.
The problem is that calcification de-activates the
consciousness-boosting effects of the pineal gland.
And here?s where the connection to sugar comes in:
too much sugar contributes in a major way to
calcification of the pineal gland. One of the best
ways to reduce the crystallized calcium deposits is
to cut way down on sugar.
Besides inhibiting the consciousness-raising effect
of meditation, sugar can cause depression by
interfering with brain cell communication. I have to
be very careful with sugar ? not only because too
much causes depression in me but also because
Alzheimer?s Disease is now being called Diabetes
Type 3 by some scientists studying the brain.
Although I was able to reverse the symptoms of
early Alzheimer?s, I still have to be careful with
sugar to keep that APO-e4 gene I inherited in the
?off? position.
Now, I?m not saying that sugar is bad. Your brain and
body need and use sugar as energy to function. The
difficulty is that we consume preposterous amounts
and that?s very harmful to our health.
As I?m writing this, I?m also talking to myself. I have
a terrible sweet tooth and love having ice cream
after dinner. I?ve had to curb that, though, so my
substitute has been plain yogurt mixed with fresh or
thawed-out frozen berries, and using stevia instead
of sugar to sweeten food and drink. Stevia has zero
calories, does not spike your blood sugar levels and
does not trigger stress hormones, among other
benefits. For those of you with the same sugar
addiction, there?s exciting news! There?s now an ice
cream made with stevia and it?s available in most
cities and towns.
