For our first issue of The Satellite Review, I
chose to title this letter, “A Road Less Traveled”
because at one time warehouse automation was just that – a road less
traveled by many manufacturers and distributors in the U.S. However,
over the past several years, we have seen this once vacant road toward
automation traveled by more companies. Now, with the rising customer
demand, companies are facing a crossroads, to automate or not, in order

AS/RS technology has increased due to the technical advancements made
in applications, business logic and cost justification, amplifying the
adoption of this technology in order to stay competitive.
As I began writing this letter, I realized that the road to automation is
no longer a road less traveled. Now, it is a busy interstate filled with
manufacturers and distributors racing toward automation to enhance
their levels of cost effectiveness, reliability and customer serv
