Sassy Saxes Final Term Together!
Formed in September 2012, these past two years have been a whirlwind experience of performances for these four teenagers!
After only a few short months together, they were out in the Community raising money for their exciting trip to Denmark, playing at Lindos, Miles Market, St. George’s Walkabout and busking in town!
Denmark proved a cohesive experience not only for the girls, but also their mothers who went with them to enjoy the atmosphere of Copenhagen at Christmas time – truly a magical experience. Performing at Department offices, Schools and Music Centres, their performances were appreciated by all. Seeing Hamlet’s castle, cycling around the Little Mermaid statue in freezing temperatures and the ferry ride to Sweden will remain as one of the happiest memories of their school days.
This past year has seen them perform at the Premier’s Concert, St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church, Revival Assembly as well as many school events. They have also been able to use this ensemble experience to record one of their most popular pieces, Moondance for the performance element of their GCSE Music.
Sadly, with three of the members
leaving the Island to attend school
overseas they will no longer be
together, but we thank them for the
pleasure that they have given to the
school and the Community through
their dedication and enjoyment of
music-making.
