Summer Event Round Up!

Many Congratulations to the Year 7 students who took part in the annual production of Shakespeare Speaks. The results of an intense rehearsal schedule paid off and the clear diction and confident performances a testament to Ms. Kelly’s direction.Covered in KS3 Scheme of Work, Shakespearean monologues prepared by Dr. Squire and Ms. Kelly were incorporated into a scenario in which students travelled through time to this era in History, giving them an opportunity to learn about productions that took place at theatres such as the Globe, London U.K.

An exciting addition this year was students Tennesson Telemaque (Yr. 9) and Billy Ewles (directed by Miss McDonald) controlling the lighting and sound boards which provided them with an insight into the technical side of theatre.

This term's Performing Arts Assembly provided the opportunity for Year 7 & 8 students to showcase practical skills from curriculum and instrumental lessons.

Double Bass students Daniela Buglione, Zoe Skinner, Nakal Goater-Price and Mackenzie Costa performed Lament from their Grade 1 exam and Yannick Hillier a Grade 3 trumpet study entitled Cinnamon Tea. Two of eight saxophonists taking Grade 5, Tom Peckett and Ryan Topple played Rondeau and Tango Till You Drop! respectively.

Year 7 Drama students Dimitri Jackson, Megan Titterton, Finlay Turnbull, Ritz Wong incorporated their research into Natural Disasters in a skit using a Powerpoint Presentation, as did the second group of students comprised of Ryan Topple, Scott Gilbertson, India Paynter and Billy Ewles.

Year 8 students had been studying Tall Tales by Bermudian Author and Educator Dale Butler which they brought to life in a timely fashion just before Bermuda Day weekend!

Congratulations to these KS3 students who demonstrated a bright future ahead of them in the Performing Arts!
