Stratford!
15 Drama students recently enjoyed an educational trip to Canada. The trip was organized specifically to cater to Coursework requirements which enabled A Level students to evaluate a professional Shakespearean performance whilst AS and GCSE candidates had the option to choose from one of the four plays that were seen.
The Stratford Festival offered a unique opportunity to experience an intensive but rewarding few days of high quality theatre, supported by workshops given by professional actors and directors and lessons initiated by Ms. Kelly, Head of Drama. The four plays seen were "The Merchant of Venice", "Waiting for Godot", "Blithe Spirit" and "Othello" in different theatrical settings and using a range of stagecraft.
An additional day in Toronto afforded the students time to view the city from the top of the CN Tower and meet former students in Canada’s capital before returning home.
All in all, a motivating and enjoyable trip!
