Rae Sremmurd isn't going awaY anytime soon. Although I

thought the Mississippi natives were simply a 2014 craze, their

debut album proved me wrong. First things first, these dudes can

rap. There were 4 features on the album, and only one was really

worth having. That goes to say that Rae Sremmurd can carry a

project almost single-handedly (or double-handedly?). The duo

showed versatility in flow and subject matter, but (thankfuly)

they stuck mainly to Mike Will production. On the other hand,

there was a lot of "who said that was okay?" moments. Swae Lee

does a lot of boring singing that doesn't add anything plausible

to the project. Slim Jimmy, meanwhile, needs to step up; there are

too many songs where he simply does not deliver bars like he

should have. In the end, it succeeds at being ambitious without

being a trainwreck. Advances have been made lyrically for the duo

as they produce a decent album for the start of 2015.
