EXPERIENCE Collecting Cassettes without wasting money !

This quarter , I ’ ve started expanding my physical music collection even more , adding cassette tapes to my CD ’ s & vinyls . At the moment , I currently have about 15 tapes , with only 5 of those being new tapes . Needless to say , I ’ ve been trying to figure out how to expand my music collection without going broke , but I ’ ve failed . What can be really aggravating is the desire to get tapes immediately fighting with the fact that there aren ’ t that many places to get them . Hands down , Amazon is going to be the goat if you want to get the lowest price and the widest variety , so try to stay away from stores like Urban Outfitters who are going to make you go broke . But what is really dope about cassette tapes , is how fun it is to thrift for them . However , don ’ t be fooled . It can be really hard . I ’ ve wasted money ( not much because of how cheap they are at thrift stores ) because I made beginners mistakes , so I want to share my experiences with you so that you get some heat for your boom box ( without going broke )!

FAIL ! FAIL !

I was crushed when I realized that “ Can You Stand The Rain ,” “ Poison ,” and “ Baby Baby Baby ” were all broken ( and I was out of $ 5 ). So here are some tips when you go thrifting for cassette tapes :

Try Goodwill first ! They ’ re bound to have a good tape section .

Bring your boom box , if it ’ s portable , so you can test tapes . Bring your headphones as well if you don ’ t want to look like a creep .
