READING BOWL
Young readers from across Rockdale battled for the county title in the
Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl held at Rockdale Career Academy Jan. 31.
Lorraine, Shoal Creek and Barksdale won first, second and third place
respectively in the elementary school division. Edwards, Davis and Memorial
won first, second and third respectively in the middle school division.
Out of those, the top two teams in the Elementary and Middle School
divisions went on to the Atlanta regional Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl on
Feb. 7 at Clayton State University. Out of those teams, Davis Middle and
Lorraine Elementary placed second in the region in their divisions.
