The WE.Music Productions Inc.

The company’s future rides on the project, so a person can get the glossy business cards and the great logo but if your product isn’t good there’s no validity to the brand. You don’t want to be average, you want to be unique. Your onus as a business owner is to do what you can to make your business stand out.

When “All I ever wanted” was released it was like a weight lifted off me. The song was written from the heart, I believe the production quality reflects that and I believe Christine is the perfect singer to sing it.

the rize: What can we expect from The WE.Music Productions in 2014?

allon: We’ll be close to releasing a full length album for Christine Cee. I see Trax Cordero, our rapper out of Halifax, coming out with an extended EP. Signing on more artists, maybe an ECMA nomination and just more great music. The whole goal is to make great music that doesn’t sound local. I want people to hear it and say, “Wow, that artist is from where?” When you’re pitching to international agents and doing commercial music, you don’t want them to know where they’re from until they read the bio. You want that cross platform appeal.

The Rize: What kind of musicians do you prefer to work with?

allon: Attitude is everything. Talent is important but not as important as your attitude towards your own talent, towards the project and towards me. This is important to me, I’m passionate about this and I put the time in and I look for that work ethic in an artist. The studio is not an exciting place, its work and you need that mindset. You need to take the time, to get to know the artist, what’s their motivation, get the feel of where their mind is and then decide If you want to work with them.

the rize: If there was one word you could use to explain your experience so far while working as a music producer, what would it be?

allon: Challenging. I think what’s made it challenging is the fact of being responsible for the project from beginning to end and not just the project but the company as a whole.
