Other than Elvis, what other artists/ musicians have been an inspiration?

I enjoy traditional country, like Hank Williams Sr. I have different tastes in music from country to bands like The Doors.

What has been the best advice given to you?

A long time ago, Eddie Miles, one of the most successful Elvis tribute artists, heard me sing. He came over and said to me, “You have Elvis in your voice. Always remember, you start here! People expect Elvis. When you mess up, you go down notch by notch. People won’t come to see you. Always bring something new to surpass their expectations. If you do it right, it will look effortless.” The thing about Elvis was, he was cool. He made it look effortless.

If you could describe your career so far in one word, what would it be?

Wonderful. I make a living making people happy.

When did you first start singing and performing?

I can remember singing heartbreak hotel when I was just six years old. I was in a school competition and lost to a girls clogging group. (Laughs) I enjoyed music like The Doors and The Rolling Stones growing up, but people would say, “You sound like Elvis Presley”. There was always that comparison.

Thane Dunn has been called the full Elvis package. After interviewing him and seeing his performances, I can say the comparison is well deserved. From his uncanny Elvis like voice to his charismatic demeanor and resemblance to the King of Rock n Roll, it's no wonder, Elvis fans from all over the world come to see him perform.
