The Rize: Tell us a little bit about yourself? Where did you grow up?

Trax: I was born in Kitchener, Ontario but almost immediately moved to Cape Breton.

It was just me and my mom. I grew up here in Cape Breton most of my life, spent 4 years in Fredericton NB then moved back here, "Home".

Im 21 years old. Ive been doing music since I was just 8 years old. Itot easy around here to go anywhere with music, so I do work a full time job.

I grew up in the mix of alot of different things, it was always just me and my mom

and of course through some years we never met eye to eye. However, we always made it through all the hard and tough times and today, my mom means the world to me, along with my 3 year old baby sister.

The Rize: How did you get started in the music industry?

Trax: I was very young. I wasnt really allowed to listen to rap back then. Lyric wise, it really wasnt fit for a youngster. Eminem was real big back then (late 90's) and I happened to sneak one of his albums home and I would listen to it whenever I could untill I was caught.. poor cd.

I never really heard much of rap before then and I felt a strong relation with the words and rhythm to each "Beat". I remember saying to myself "wow, I wish I could do that."

At that point I scrounged up as much paper and pens as I could and only 8 years old I started practicing and teaching myself how to write and flow on a beat.
