The Railway Children
Playing until 3 January 2016
Kings Cross Theatre London
A great chance for the family to catch this sell-out show as it’s
now running for an extra four months. E Nesbit’s much-loved
Edwardian children’s classic is brought to life in a production
that won the Olivier Award for best entertainment. The stage is
purpose-built around a real train track, and a beautiful vintage
locomotive steams into the theatre to delight all ages.
So join Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis whose lives change dramatically
when their father is mysteriously taken away. They move from
London to rural Yorkshire where there’s a railway at the end of
their garden – the first step to many adventures.

Before the Party
Wednesday 2-Saturday 12 September
Theatre Royal Windsor
Opening in Windsor before a national tour, this new play stars
Tom Conti in a bitingly funny adaptation of a Somerset Maugham
short story. The Skinner family are trying to return to normal after
the war. If only the blasted government weren’t such a nuisance
about rations, and Cook could get some more of those delicious
delicacies. With
daughter Laura back
from Africa widowed
but not alone, they
prepare for the latest
social gathering.
Amidst a whirl
of hats, dresses
and below stairs
skirmishes, Laura
reveals a shocking
secret that threatens
to ruin more than one
party on the climb to
social success.
