Bonnet Guild Gala Week ... with a virtual twist !
Bonnet Guild Gala Week took on a virtual twist again this year with the Guild hosting a combination of ‘ in-person ’ and virtual activities for the town to participate in and enjoy .
and Close-ups competition to name but a few ! Many thanks to the sports clubs who hosted the outdoor events and to absolutely everyone who submitted photographs , videos , poems , baking and works of art . It was brilliant to have so many participants from across the age spectrum giving the whole town something to enjoy .
Congratulations to the Car Treasure Hunt winners Sharon Malloy & team and to second place Chris Cole & team as well as joint third Jean Findlay and team & Gregor Duncan and team ! The winners , by tiebreak , of the Walking Treasure Hunt were Aileen and John Kilpatrick , with runners up the “ Swat Burds ” ( Susan Williamson and Alice Wallace ).

The " Looking to the Future " Shop Window competition was won by a fantastic display by Bling , closely followed by Bell Book & Candle who took second place and Gilmartin ' s Bakery in third . Congratulations too to all other entrants who each received a very well-deserved highly commended certificate ! Thanks go to the independent judges for volunteering their time .
2021 saw the return of the infamous Bonnet Guild Car Treasure Hunt as well as a Walking Treasure Hunt and Indoor Scavenger Hunt , alongside outdoor competitions such as the annual Golf Tournament , Junior Tennis Competition , Bowling Club Final and Shop Window Competition .
Online , there was an Art Exhibition , Obstacle Course Challenge , Bake-a- Bonnet Challenge , Poets ’ Corner , Greenfingers Gallery
The Indoor Scavenger Hunt was won by “ Sproglet on the way !” ( Congratulations !) With Team Gall in 2nd and The Mad McFarlanes fae Johnstone in 3rd .
A little bit of history was created on the beautifully sunny Thursday evening of Gala Week , when Audrey Brown became the first ever female winner of the Bonnet Guild Bowling Tournament hosted by Stewarton Bowling Club . Congratulations to Audrey and her bowling partner Charlie Hodge - the first ever mixed pair to win ! Well done too , to runners up Ian Carmichael and Ross Taylor .
