Saluting nearly 25 years of service to the community
Friday 25th June was Firefighter Matthew Torrance ' s final Drill Night as he prepares to call it a day and turn off the pager for one final time on July 1st .
Come then , Matthew will have served the communities in and around Stewarton for 24 Years 274 Days . Matt has like many Retained Firefighters stepped away from his business at the sound of the pagers attending incidents throughout this area for almost 25 years , including the train crash in 2009 .
Matt was also a key factor in Stewarton Fire Station being a National Champion in the RTC Scenario Competitions .
In attendance last night were the full Stewarton Crew , Group Commander Edward Kenna and Area Commander Ian McMeekin as we collectively thanked FF Torrance for his service and commitment to Stewarton Fire Station . We wish you all the very best and thank you for the memories !
