Feeling sad that my boy who I took to youth football has decided to retire after a great career .
Killie- great club with great people great memories . Debut senior goal away to Hearts . Winning BP youth cup with Killie youths . Hat trick league cup semi-final against Kasper Schmeichel . Loads of great goal including penalty against Rangers for last minute draw before going on trial at Arsenal . Scored the winning goal against Rangers at Ibrox to give Walter Smith his first defeat after returning to Ibrox .
Rangers - Boyhood dream to play with club he supported . Three League titles Two Scottish Cups and one League Cup . Memorable moment ’ s goal in the Champions League , two goals against Celtic in a 4-2 win , with an assist for Kenny Miller to beat nine-man Rangers the League Cup . Players player award and fans player of the year award , a goal against Killie in title winning day . Man of the match against Man Utd away in Champion ’ s League . Also , a runner up in the 2008 UEFA Cup final , when the Rangers were narrowly beaten by Zenit .
Everton - Debut Hat trick against AEK Athens in Tony Hibbert testimonial . Europa League goal , great goal against Liverpool in Mersey derby , Hat trick against Chelsea in Premier League . Goals against top six teams in England . Man Utd , Man City , Liverpool , Chelsea , and Arsenal . Player of the month awards . Everton finishing 5th in Premier League . Another great club with great fans .
Norwich City , 8.5million pound transfer scored against Liverpool on his debut . Scored against Everton to knock them out of League cup . Limited highlights but nice people at the club .
Hearts - Another great club and fans , Scored 14 goals in his first loan move . Scored against Hibs in Edinburgh derby , unlucky not to captain Hearts to Scottish Cup win against Celtic . Captained side back to SPL . Struggled a bit with injuries second time round . Scored against Rangers in League and win against them in the cup . Reached two Scottish cup finals .
Scotland - 51 caps for his country 10 goals including one against then World Cup winners Spain .
Captained his country and earned a place in SFA hall of fame .
Scotland Young Player of the year and sports writer ’ s young player of the year awards .
Steven also continues to do a lot of charity work for the homeless , dyslexia Scotland and supports unemployed and forces charities .
Thanks for all the memories from a proud Dad .
A huge thank you to David , Steven ’ s Dad for allowing us to use this in our summer edition . What a fantastic career Steven has had , a local person that has worked extremely hard in his career .
