Stewarton Annick Girls are a roaring success !
The growth of girl ’ s football in Stewarton is absolutely amazing , participation numbers are unbelievable . We now have over 80 girls with our U9 / U7 team starting .
Freel and Adele Mathison for all their hard work to right this wrong . Thanks to Rose Reilly for her support and believing in the girls . The pitch at the Academy will be used for training as the surface is not suitable for studs so no matches can be played here . This will allow us to increase the amount of training for our teams but in the long run will hopefully also reduce the amount of Stewarton teams who are having to travel outside of the town to train with teams accessing facilities around Ayrshire .
All our teams are always keen to recruit the ( U9 / U7 have a waiting list currently ), but our U15 team are looking for two outfield players ( 2006 / 7 or experienced 2008 ) to join their established squad .
This means we have teams at U7 / 9 / 11 / 13 / 15 age groups . With restriction levels reducing we are hoping everyone will be able to play matches in August with about 40 girls ready to make their debuts .
We are also very pleased to have eventually gained access to the pitch at Stewarton Academy . Thanks to everyone who helped in this campaign , all the committee members of Stewarton Annick , our local councillor Gordon Jenkins , our MP Alan Brown , our MSP Willie Coffey , also to Anneke
Please can anyone who would be interested in volunteering to help coach the girls contact us via our social media pages . Having more volunteers will allow us to take on more girls at the younger ages .
