Arran Dog Bakery is a small , family run dog bakery , based on the west of Scotland . Founded in 2017 by Stacey and her Beagle , Chica , Arran Dog Bakery was forged from a passion of creating high quality , natural dog treats for your four-pawed best friend . An Arran girl born and raised and an avid dog lover , Stacey has a professional history in catering , and a passion for baking and all things dogs . When her sisters Labrador at the time , Myrtle , regularly got upset stomachs , the family became extremely aware of all the additives and preservatives that go into a lot of big brand dog foods and treats . Stacey decided to create her own handmade , healthy dog treats that Myrtle could enjoy , with just wholesome , natural ingredients and without all the " unknowns " that you would usually find in the mass-produced treat !
Spurred on by how successful they were with Chica and Myrtle , Stacey started selling her biscuits in Red Door , a small gift shop in Brodick on the Isle of Arran that she runs with her sister Ruth . As the word spread , Stacey was quickly overwhelmed with the popularity of her biscuits , and because of this demand Stacey ' s niece Elaine and her other half Sam came on board to help Stacey keep up – it truly is a family affair . Elaine and Sam live just across the water in Stewarton where they live with their Labrador Wellesley , and where they enjoy daily walks round the woods looking over to the Arran hills . have the chance to win one of their Giant Bones ... Since 2019 , the Arran Dog Bakery team have worked tirelessly to build their small business , and reach more lucky pups across the globe ! As well as having a passion to create natural , handmade , wholesome biscuits , they also strive to be an ethical and environmentally aware company , and support small charities wherever they can .
Where possible , their packaging is made from recyclable and sustainable materials , and they donate 5p of every bag of biscuits sold on the website to Scottish Dog Charities . In 2019 / 20 , donations were made to The Trusty Paws Clinic – Glasgow , and in 2021 their donations are going to Islay Dog Rescue .
They are currently running their yearly Charity Vote , where people can vote for their favourite Scottish dog charity , and the winners get chosen by Wellesley , the Arran Dog Bakery Black Labrador in his famous Tennis Ball Lottery on Sunday 11th April .
