D
o you consider yourself to be a creative person?
Humans are naturally driven to be creative. Ever since the dawn
of time we’ve been drawing on cave walls and inventing new tools,
like the wheel.
Creativity is defined as “the use of the imagination or original
ideas.” One word that really sticks out is imagination, “or the act of
forming new ideas.”
Lately, in America, the deed of being original and creating these
new ideas is declining. What I’m saying is that we are just doing the
same work as one another. Why are we all doing what everyone else
is doing, if we keep doing the exact same thing we aren’t going to
get better and won’t begin to innovate.
The purpose of creativity is to be free; it’s a very personal issue.
Consider the creative process; it is different for every individual and
every medium of art. It’s unlike, unique, and delicate.
The means of creativity are closer than ever.
Today we live in an age where technology is at our fingertips
and can access any place at any time.
However, many are finding it hard to be original. Even as this
era is being defined as the Digital Creative Age.
Currently, there are hundreds of applications, websites, softwares, and blogs that all revolve around creativity.
One of the prominent creative apps is VSCOcam, created by the
Visual Supply Company in Emeryville, California. Their app has revolutionized the way mobile photographers take pictures. Their custom
presets that emulate a picture to an aptness that is second to none.
Through their photo sharing site, anyone can review art from all
over the world.
This is just one of the ways that creativity has been expanded.
Music listeners can express their own originality through sites like
sound cloud. Further proving that creativity is more widely accessible.
Even though it’s more reachable, doesn’t mean it’s still embraced.
So what about you?
You have the means to create, but will you? R
