14 To place editorial email [email protected] Stewarton Annick Girls FC NEWS girls football academy - run by active schools Its run by myself and another female coach who are both certified SFA coaches, and what our club is about is the beginning stages of getting the girls involved in football, we do play games at our group but not in a competitive nature, we have had girls who have come along and now joined local professional teams, so it's a little stepping stone for them before they join a team atmosphere. It has been a flourishing club that has been running from over 3 years in the local community, and this year we have had enormous interest from girls joining aged between 5 and 12. We train every Wednesday from 6 -7pm at the Stewarton Sports Centre, the girls don’t need any experience to join, come along and have some fun, you never know your little girl could be the next star of women’s football. This picture was when we took our girls football team to their first Scotland Women’s football game on the 10th of June 2018. S tewarton Annick Girls FC will start their inaugural season on Saturday 1st March. We will be entering 1 team at Under 13 level and 2 teams at U11 level. Both will be playing 7-a-side. Everyone at the club is so excited about the start to our first season following months of hard work to set up and register the club with the SWFA. Our coaches have been working hard to earn coaching badges as well as training the girls and the U13s have played some pre-season friendlies, including their first ever match against Dalry Rovers. If your girl would like to join our team please come along to training on a Thursday night from 6-7.30pm on the AstroTurf at Stewarton Sports Centre. Friendly and personal service since 2002.
