ere at the tennis club, we have watched excitedly over the winter
as contractors have installed new bases for our three courts, all
new fencing, LED lighting, and a new gate access system.
At the time of writing just the final playing surface needs to applied, for
which we need 3-5 days of dry weather. Unfortunately this has been a big
ask this year, so at the time of writing we are still hopeful for a few dry
days, and a break from the rain.
The redevelopment work has been funded by East Ayrshire Renewal
Energy Fund, SportScotland, and club funds.
Launch Week and Open Day.
We have a great week of activities planned, in the week starting 23rd
March to give you all an opportunity to try our fantastic new facilities
completely free. If you fancy playing under the lights, we will be down at
the courts each day from 6-9pm to welcome you, with courts available
for juniors and adults. There are also a number of daytime events too. See
stewartontennis.org or our facebook for full details.
Saturday 28th March will see a celebration, and official opening for invited
guests, then everyone is welcome to our Open Day on Sunday 29th March
from 1pm. This will feature fun activities for juniors from 1-3pm followed
by a chance for the adults, however rusty, or complete beginners to get on
court. Join us for free food and refreshments too.
Join us - Memberships for the new season will be due at the Open Day,
but you can now sign up for a membership online too.

the Ayrshire Winter Leagues. Three teams get a chance to play teams from
all over Ayrshire at all levels, learning to settle the nerves, move out of the
“comfort zone”, and get a real taste for competition. Taking place indoors
at the Prestwick Tennis facility makes for exciting and fun nights and it
is fair to say that Stewarton is increasingly challenging many of the more
established teams.
In the six weeks leading up to Easter there will be after school Tennis
Taster sessions at Lainshaw Primary for P5s, led by our LTA coach Robert.
For the super keen the Club will also be hosting an LTA Road to
Wimbledon competition in May, for the winners this could well be the
start of a journey leading to the National Finals at Wimbledon in August.
The club coaches Juniors from age 4+ upwards all year round and next up
will be our Easter Holiday Coaching Programme on Tues to Thurs over
the two weeks of the Easter Holidays. Now with floodlit facilities we
have lots of additional junior possibilities throughout the darker months.
