This photo was taken 30 years ago in March 1991 in the Academy gym and shows tennis coach Gordon Barclay with all the local players who had recently done well at the Ayrshire Short Tennis Championships in Dam Park Hall in Ayr .

Euan won the Ayrshire Boys ' Open Competition which had an entry of 60 .
Here are some 4th year High School pupils pictured in the Bavarian summerhouse at Brodick Castle on 11th June 1971 .
On these trips , pupils had a choice of activities to take part in ( e . g . hillwalking , beachcombing , birdwatching , golf ) supervised by various teachers .

Here ’ s a busy scene in Currie ’ s factory , Bridgend Works , in 1974 when Alastair wrote an article on the history of the business for the Bonnet Guild Souvenir Programme . The company , John Currie , Son & Co Ltd , ceased trading in 1984 Some of the Currie workers who spent a good many years at Bridgend Works were David Roberton , George Smith , Johnny Rintoul , James Craig , Billy Mills , Janet Cranston , Danny Sim , Bettie Irvine , Mrs Chalmers ( Lizzie Wyllie ) and her mother before her , Elda Noble , Maggie Orr , Martha Galt , Jean Mills , James “ Heely ” Kirkland , Mary Ferguson , Jimmy McNaughton and Agnes McNaught .
On Gala Day in the late 1960s and early 1970s , the Bonnet Guild used to run a Piano Smashing competition in the lower football pitch in Standhead Park . The event involved two teams demolishing pianos and then they had to put the broken pieces through a hole in a piece of wood hanging from the crossbar . The photo was taken by Guild photographer John Hall .
