ICE
Joe Millar (pronounced Mill-er) is an anomoly. He
is a two-sport athlete, which is not all too off beat.
However, his two sports just might be as incongrous
as any. During the winter, Millar is a stout, two-way
defenseman for the back-to-back defending state
champion Mustang hockey team. On the ice, the
game never stops moving, and is played, at times,
with reckless abandon. During the spring, Millar
toes the rubber for the Mustangs baseball team, a
game that is notoriously slow paced. But it is also
quite cerebral, a notion that Millar is just fine with.

JOE
Coach Matt Schoepflin (on Millar): “Joe is one of
the best kids I have had the privilege to coach over
the past few years....He is an anchor for our defense
and a great leader on and off the ice...One of the
best things I can say about Joe is that he always
does things the right way. He never takes short cuts
and is always willing to step up and help others,
whether that is on the ice or in the classroom. This
year, as a senior, he has done a great job mentoring
the younger players on the team and in year’s past
has even helped tutor several players on the team.
He’s the type of kid that every coach hopes they get
to coach.”
