To those of you who think, “Well, peanut butter on a burger sounds delicious!”, let me describe the taste to you. On one hand, you have peanut butter, which, by itself, is creamy, smooth and delicious. On the other hand, you have a tender, grilled-to-perfection burger with fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and a crunchy pickle. Once again, delicious by itself. When you combine these two masterpieces, you get a whole other monster. A peanut butter burger is the gut-bomb of the century. Creamy, salty, and nutty just doesn’t go with a meaty, grizzled burger. The official rules of the challenge were to eat a four-pound, quadruple-patty burger, slathered in peanut butter, four pieces of melted cheese, eight slices of greasy bacon, and mayonnaise all on a sesame seed bun. Surrounding this monster of a burger is a straight up pound of curly fries. All of this has to be eaten in 30 minutes. When they brought out the platter of food, I was a little cocky. I thought that if I could 22 put down 50 McNuggets, I could put down a big burger. I was wrong. I went right at it though. I knew that eating fast was the key to this challenge, especially if I was going to be able to get the challenge done within 30 minutes. Starting with the top bun and working my way down, I tried to tackle the burger, layer by greasy layer. By the end of layer two, the struggle bus had arrived. The contrast in taste had officially gotten to my taste buds, and once again it was a grind until the finish. The third layer passed, and I decided that it was time for a break in taste. I went for the fresh vegetables that accompany every good hamburger. At this point there was just under a quarter of the burger, all of the fries, and only six minutes left. I cut my goal down to finishing the burger. Time seemed to be speeding up as the last layer and I battled it out; unfortunately I didn’t win this one. When the buzzer went off, there was half a patty remaining, surrounded by the many curly fries. Although I didn’t finish the challenge, I gained more e \
