In and Out By: Alana Cribbs R alston Valley is known for many things, some not as good as others, but one thing that doesn’t stand out is NHS work in the community. NHS has over 200 members that are constantly volunteering their time in and out of school. Before joining NHS, many students were active in the community in a number of ways, Lauren Sides, the vice president, “still did about 40 hours a year of volunteer work” and Ally adds that she “volunteered 12 through her church.” Ally also got involved in her middle school NJHS, they did projects such as make sandwiches for the poor. And in her sophomore year, she joined NHS and latter became president of NHS. Ally’s job is more than just saying she is president, she runs all of NHS with the help of other elected students. She gets to run meetings, make sure everything is going smoothly, put together events, make posters, control their facebook and
