Boy’s Brigade Section Focus - Juniors
The Junior Section is our middle section
aimed at p.4 to p.6. We have a mix of boys
from Robertland and Lainshaw schools as
well as Fenwick and Dunlop.
We have 28 boys currently on the overall
Company roll of 100 boys. The boys
do badge work, games, crafts and visits/
competitions. For a number of years we
have also been going swimming for once a
month on the normal Wednesday night.
Great and busy start to the session with a
lot of activities making sure we cater for
all boys in our Section. Few highlights
include the recent visit to the Anchors and
Juniors of Owl Magic which was a great
night for the boys.
Our Battalion activities so far have been
a Treasure Hunt at Eglintoun Park, Ten
Pin Bowling, Athletics, Swimming Gala,
Cooking and 5-A-Side Football.
On the night before the cooking
competition we had a sleepover in the
Church Hall, the boys had a great time
playing games, eating and free time highlight being a late night lights out with
the result a few tired boys in the morning
(and staff of course)
Competition wise our medal haul has been
good this year with 12 medals at Athletics,
3 at swimming gala and a 1st and 3rd place
at the 5-A-Side.
Our Juniors even had indoor fireworks on
bonfire night which they really enjoyed.
It was good also to see the Junior section
boys out at the War Memorial recently on
Remembrance Sunday where the Company
laid 2 wreaths, with our normal BB wreath
and also a WW1 commemorative wreath.
Very proud of the boys who showed up
to pay their respects at the servic
