STEWARTON Bowling Club
Stewarton Bowling Club is a Club open to all . Although we are a private members club , we welcome members , members ’ guests and visitors to our premises . ( Visitors and guests simply sign the Visitors ’ book on entry .)
We are affiliated to Bowls Scotland , the West of Scotland Womens ’ Bowling Association , and the Ayrshire Bowling Association and through these bodies participate in local , District and National Competitions .
Over the past 18 months or so we have been restricted in our activities and bowling has been mainly limited to internal competitions . In more normal times ( hopefully from the start of 2022 ), we take part in friendly / challenge matches ( for Gents , Ladies and seniors ) against local clubs as well as others from Kilmarnock , Irvine and Glasgow . In addition , we organize a number of fun / charity days in support of Ayrshire Cancer Support , Scottish Bowlers ’ Fellowship and Erskine .
Apart from the above-mentioned club friendlies , competitions and charity days we also engage in a number of other high tariff matches including Ayrshire Cup , Hospital Cup , Glasgow / Ayrshire etc . We also have two very well supported invitation events : The Invitation Triples and The Members & Guests Day – both of which are hugely popular .
We are very proud of our bowling achievements and are well known for our hospitality . Our premises comprise a Committee Room , Locker room , kitchen , cellar bar and lounge / function area . The bar , which is open to members , guests and visitors , is a bright friendly and cosy environment in which to enjoy a refreshment . The bar is well stocked and competitively priced .

Gordon , ran in the London Marathon for his dad , Douglas , who has Bladder Cancer .
Gordon ran it in 3 hours 10 minutes ! beating his previous best and he raised just under £ 4000 . We are very proud of him and his effort , please keep checking yourself as it can make ALL the difference if caught early being worse in women than men .

Currently we have approximately 163 members ( Gents , Ladies & Seniors ) and are keen to recruit further members – whether you are new to bowling , a beginner or an experienced player we would be glad to have you join us . Fees for 2021 were £ 97 pa which gives access to all bowling activities throughout the playing season and to the bar and social events for the full year .
