Stewarton Annick Girls go from strength to strength !
The growth of girls football in Stewarton is absolutely amazing , participation numbers are unbelievable . We now have over 80 girls across all of our teams .
We have teams at U7 / 9 / 11 / 13 age groups . With Covid-19 restriction levels reducing this year we have given debuts to about 40 girls already in 2021 .
All of our teams are always keen to recruit , however our U9 / U7 have a waiting list at the moment due to a lack of volunteers to help with training and matches . We really need volunteers at the U9 / U7 age group . These girls train one hour per week on a Wednesday and play matches on a Sunday morning if you would be able to spare your time the girls would love it and we could increase the number of girls able to partake . Please can anyone who would be interested in volunteering to help coach the girls contact us via our social media pages .
The girls had so much fun at our fun day this year with a colour fight
and a slip and slide set up at Cocklebie Park . I can ’ t wait to see their faces when it gets to our Christmas event !
We would like to thank The Sugar Cube for sponsoring our Player of The Match awards , the girl love going and getting their treats from the fantastic selection . We are very keen to have other local businesses involved as the girls start their footballing journey , if any businesses would like to sponsor the girls team please don ’ t hesitate to get in touch .
We would also like to thank Elsie Cook as well as Ian Maxwell and Shirley Martin from the SFA for donating match tickets to Stewarton Annick Girls for the Scotland V Israel World Cup qualifier as well as the SWNT against Hungary and Sweden . And everyone at the club would like to thank Billy Bowie Special Projects for sponsoring the bus to the match against Israel . This allowed the girls to attend with no cost to them ensuring that all of the girls had the opportunity to attend what turned out to a fantastic and incredibly exciting match with a last minute winner and a party in the stands .
