Stewarton United Ladies pay tribute with testimonial match

On the 29th of August 2021 Stewarton United Ladies paid tribute in the form of a testimonial match for Allison Black , a former player of Stewarton Thistle and Stewarton United Ladies . It felt only right to pay tribute to Alli ’ s retirement at the age of 55 by inviting players from her previous and most current team to play in a match dedicated to Alli .

Some former Stewarton greats took to the park such as Stewarton ’ s very own Elsie Cook and a cohort of players , she coached in her Stewarton Thistle days . It was wonderful to see players who hadn ’ t seen one another for years come together so well and play again in celebration of their teammate .
Alli has played for many years , and this is recognisable on the park with her skills on the ball . Alli has positively impacted her teammates skills with guidance and direction .
Alli ’ s centre mid partner Kayleigh Flynn said “ Playing alongside wee Alli , well what can I say ! She ' s a naturally gifted player , she was fierce , strong , very talented on the ball ! Alli guided me into the new position and made me feel comfortable we were a wee team that just knew where each another was , I felt like I had played with her for years ”
The match was dedicated to the charity Beautiful Inside and Out which is very close to Alli ’ s heart in memory of her son Ross . The match raised £ 820 which was presented to Pauline Moriarty from Beautiful Inside and Out at a training night . Pauline came and had a chat with the girls and was handed the cheque . Thank you , Pauline .
Stewarton United Ladies would like to take this opportunity to thank all who came along to the event in which ever way you participated to make this such a success .
Thank you to Alli for her dedication to the team over the years and her impact on the women ’ s game .
We would also like to thank President of the club Lisa Millar for her dedication in pulling together the event .
Stewarton United Ladies have also recently linked up with The Cup and Saucer in Stewarton who are providing match day hospitality . Aristos Physiotherapy who will be providing the team with a discounted price for therapy sessions and Fiftyfiftyphotography who take match day photographs .
We thank all our sponsors and collaborations for their help over the course of the season .
