Nether Robertland Primary School – Cash for Kids Schools Challenge 2021
Nether Robertland Primary School rose to the challenge ! They put themselves forward to take part in the West FM Cash for Kids Schools Challenge . Cash for Kids is the official charity of West FM , supporting disadvantaged children across East Ayrshire . Every penny raised locally stays local and goes towards supporting the most vulnerable children living in Ayrshire .
About the Schools Challenge
West FM Cash for Kids Schools Challenge is like no other . The aim of the Schools Challenge is to raise money for Cash for Kids but also to help raise funds for schools . This Challenge has permitted Nether Robertland Primary School to make a difference by helping to raise money over a four week period which started on Friday 4th October and ended on Friday 29th October . Mrs Shaw , the new Head Teacher , worked collaboratively with West FM , the Parents ’ Association and the whoale school community to plan and carryout a variety of fantastic events .
The Schools Challenge kicked off with a whole school ‘ dress as you please ’ day on Friday 8th October . Pupils made a donation on the day and had great fun on the last day of term before the October holiday . Next came the charity carwash on Sunday 24th October . Torrance Garage kindly allowed Nether Robertland Primary School to use their forecourt and they had a huge about of support from parents / carers and the wider Stewarton community as they stopped to get a top quality carwash . This was run by parent helpers and pupils , who displayed great leadership . Following this , pupils took art in a Hallowe ’ en sponsored obstacle event . They came to school in full costume and took part in the obstacle course . Finally , the Parents ’ Association organised a Halloween raffle . The generous Stewarton business community kindly donated many great prizes .
Nether Robertland Primary are very proud to share that they raised a whopping £ 7012.45 ! They were also the top fund raising school , receiving a £ 3000 Cash for Kids top-up grant and they get to keep 100 % of their fundraising total . Alongside this , they received an additional award of £ 250 for social media interaction .
It has been a wonderful experience being involved with West FM Cash for Kids Schools Challenge and we hope to be involved again in the future .
Nether Robertland has also decided to donate £ 1000 of the funds raised to Cash for Kids , what a wonderful gesture from the school .
