ith the Navajo Nation Presidential election season in full swing, The RESource reached out to all 17 Navajo Nation
Presidential candidates, and at no cost, gave the opportunity for each candidate to submit information about why they
are running for the position of President of the Navajo Nation. The RESource’s free monthly publication reaches many
diverse readers across Navajoland. The RESource is proud to give its readers the opportunity to hear these presidential candidates’ biography and presidential goals. In an effort to reach as many Navajo voters as possible, it is the goal of The RESource
to educate as many Navajo voters in identifying the right person to lead the Navajo Nation forward.
With The RESource’s deadline and the very busy schedule of each presidential candidate, seven out of the 17 candidates were
able to provide their political information by the deadline. Hence, The RESource proudly presents the following candidates: Cal
Nez, Carrie Lynn Martin, Dr. Joe Shirley, Jr., Dale E. Tsosie, Donald Benally, Kenneth Maryboy, and Hank Whitethorne.
For more information on hearing each presidential candidate’s platform, The RESource is hosting “The Navajo Nation Presidential Forum” at the Twin Arrows Navajo Casino on August 2, 2014. The general public is encouraged to attend this free event.
